Sissy's Strawberry Freezer Jam

I am back as promised with the recipe and pictures of step by step of the Strawberry Freezer Jam! Today was a pretty low key and we just did things around her that needed tending to. And we went to the store and such too! But nothing to exciting! Tonight we watched the All Star Salute to George Strait! It was GREAT! He is my all time favorite! Lil E had fun eating as many strawberries as she could! We cut some for strawberry shortcakes, and made jam with the rest! The strawberries were so sweet and perfect. The best we have had in a long time!

Here's to the recipe ~

Sissy's Strawberry Freezer Jam
2 cups of crushed strawberries (we use fresh)
4 cups of sugar (we have done a batch with splenda for my diabetic mom, and it turned out GREAT!)
3/4 cup water
1 package of sure-jell (pectin)

Frist you need to clean the strawberries! Then cut them up and smash them up.

Add in the 4 cups of sugar and stir it together really well. Then you will let it sit for about 15 minutes.

When you return, this is what it will look like! YUMMY already, I must say!

In a sauce pan, put your water and stir in the sure-jell. Make sure it is disolved and bring to a full boil and let it boil for 1 minute.

Pour into the strawberries and stir it all together. Make sure it all mixed really well!

Ladle into clean and sterile jars. Makes 6 jelly jars.

Put the tops and rings on. Let sit on counter for about 18 to 24 hours. Making sure they are cool enough to go into the freezer.

Then you place in the freezer until you wish to enjoy! When it's time to enjoy, just place in the fridge and it will keep open a month. (if it lasts that long).

Hope yall enjoy! We love it and I'm so glad to have had the chance to make this with my sister! Back when I lived near her, we would cook and bake and all sorts of stuff together. I miss it!

Hugs and Blessings,

I know ya'll will be enjoying some tasty treats with that.

This looks so easy to do. I think that I will try this with Mary. I'm not much of a cook, but hope to change that with my own daughter. She motivates me to do so many more "domestic" things then my own mother did.

I love how our kids spur us on to be better mothers!

Blessings,
Val
