CHRISTmas Lights

What a beautiful Christmas Light Display! I love Christmas lights so very much!! The twinkle and glow brighten the way, and when you see anything that shows the real meaning of CHRISTmas, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, you can't help but love it more! One of my all time favorite parts of CHRISTmas is going to look at the lights. This past weekend, we went to a lighted CHRISTmas parade, then we visited a small drive through park all decked with lights (where this pic was taken), and we also visited a walk through lighted CHRISTmas park! It's been a favorite memory of mine all my life. I have loved it since I was a little one. And it's always been a favorite time with our lil Blessing! She loves the lights as much as we do. And she knows the real reason, Jesus was born! She loves Jesus so much! We love this time of the year so much. We have been watching CHRISTmas movies and sitting by the fireplace. It's time for me to start my baking? I love to bake and make homemade gifts.

Here's a recipe that is great at the Holiday time!

Grandmother's Twice Cooked Divinity ~

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup (divided into 1/3 & 2/3 amounts)
1/3 cup water
few grains of salt
2 egg whites
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional

Stir until sugar, water and salt until dissolved. Boil to a soft ball stage. Beat in 2 egg whites till stiff, but not dry. Gradualy pour 1/3 of syrup over egg white and beat together. Cook the remaining syrup to a light crackle stage. Beat into mixture until it shapes. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper.

Getting ready for CHRISTmas

As we start to get all ready for the CHRISTmas Season. It's our all time favorite time of the year. It's such a cheerful and fun time full of love and splendor, and yet we get to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And we choose to celebrate Santa Clause in the remembrance of St. Nicholas bearing gifts. So it's fun and so special! Our town did an open house this weekend and while I was out and about, my wonderful husband (yes he loves CHRISTmas as much as me) started digging out all the decorations as a surprise to me! So yesterday we started in decorating and had so much fun! We wrapped one of the outside trees in lights. And yes we did put some inside trees too. I did the small trees yesterday. So I still have the main 2 trees to go. I have some of my decorations put out, but still have more to go. We were so excited when we found one Christmas station on the TV’s XM Radio last night, but today there are 4! So after being sick for a couple of weeks and really under the weather, I received a boost in spirits by starting our Christmas decorating!
