Christmas in July
Merry Christmas in July!!!!!!!!
We always celebrate Christmas in July! It's so much fun! This year, we did it a couple of days early. The girls have gone to visit their Grandparents (my parents) as I will be going to Convention. But I didn't want to miss this fun time that we enjoy so much! So we did it early, and made it just as fun!!!

What did we do? Well we baked cookies and curled up to watch Christmas movies and shows! We enjoyed How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Prep and Landing, and The Christmas Card! And now today, I am going to enjoy some of of QVC's Christmas in July!!!!
We made 2 kinds of cake mix cookies, and pineapple cookies too!!! It is always so much fun baking with the girls! It really makes me so happy!!! It is a true passion I have!!!
Cake Mix Cookies
1 box cake mix – any flavor
½ of 8oz. tup Cool Whip
1 egg
Toppings of your choice ~ powder Sugar, cinnamon sugar, nuts, sprinkles, coco powder, etc
Mix dough well. It will be very stiff. Roll into balls (any size) then roll in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, nuts, sprinkle, etc. DON’T FLATTEN BALLS. They will flatten in oven. Bake at 350* for about 12 minutes. Cool.
The powdered sugar cookies look elegant to drizzle a little melted chocolate, even red and green drizzles for Christmas. The possibilities are endless!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas in July!!!

Room Redo
It's finally time for us to start with redoing the girls room here. Since moving in, we had planned on painting their room, and I had it all planned out without changing up everything we had. Staying with the same theme of flowers and butterflies. Things have changed, and I am so excited!!!
I always wanted to do a cowgirl themed nursery, but we were so poor for extra expenses, when we were blessed with Lil E! Then the girls were sharing a room when it came to Lil K and I didn't want to change out the theme, as we had special pieces that were really special. But now that we have moved and it's time to paint, Lil E is busy bugging me about what kind of room she wants. I kept saying you can help me pick things out, but we aren't changing everything out. She has asked and asked for a cowgirl room, or other idea is for a race car room. We were at the Mall with Patti and the boys and she wanted a cute picture frame that says "Thank Heaven for Little Cowgirls" and a new pretty cross to go in there! And asked again, can I please have a horse or cowgirl room. So i said to her, you can pick if this is what you want. But what you tell Momma now is what we have to stay with! If you could pick any room you wanted, what would you want it to be. And the answer was .........
Cowgirl!
So she won! Mommy did get that frame that day and then we found the bedding. It has actually arrived. We have to get the bed and then I get to start painting and all that fun stuff! I am so excited and really over joyed about this! My wish is coming true, just years later when my princess was about to pick it out!!!
Above is the bed sets.... We will not be getting a few more pieces in the set, but not all of them. Will add the curtains, and hamper, but will be doing our own wall decorations.
Below is the bed we have all agreed on for the girls room.sOBLsqlusebQ~~_3.jpg)
I can't wait for the work to start. In the next few weeks it will all start to take on the new look! We have to finish removing the layers of wall paper before we can even paint in there. What a nightmare! I can't believe people were so lazy to put wall paper over wall paper over wall paper! It's all good! Walls will be pink and trim will be brown! I have my eye on some vinyl wall art and custom letters for the room too! I am so excited!

Grilling Out

Click on the banner and it will take you over to Kelly's Korner for show us your life! This week it's Favorite Grilling Recipes!
I love anything grilled, and I'm truly blessed with a great grillin' hubby! He loves it and is very good at it. Thank God!
I am sharing my favorite recipe, Cajun Grilled Shrimp! YUMMY!
You wash and devein the shrimp. (or use the frozen deveiened) (when we lived on the coast we would use fresh!) Put on skewers and lay on a cookie sheet. Melt butter and stir in minced garlic or pressed garlic (if you are using your pampered chef garlic press). Yes you can use garlic powder if you wish... Pour this over your shrimp. Then you sprinkle (I use alot) Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning. Let it sit for 30 minutes and then place shrimp skewers on the grill and grill until done!
Tony Chachere's is great on so much! It is wonderful on pork chops. Just sprinkle this and some black pepper on them and grill them!!
Enjoy!

The Cross
I wanted to share something very special with all of you! We stopped on our way home from our July 4th trip. It is something that is beyond beautiful and none of these pictures do it justice!!! I can assure you that! In Groom, TX (just off of I40) you can stop and visit The Cross. It is actually called the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries. You can check out the web site here.
It is 19 stories tall and 11 stories wide! It is so powerful. We have visited in a few times, and each time I'm moved beyond imagination. I will let the pictures do the talking... You don't need my words here....... God Bless you!

And from a previous trip, here is a picture at night!
