A New Year, a Better Me..

 

 

As we start out 2013, I have done a lot of soul searching, goal planning with my hubby and myself. And I have really taken a lot of time to reflect on what matters. Coming in a post soon, will be our Christmas and New Years. But this year was much different. We didn’t travel. We were home with just us, and so it was a big year of new traditions and making lasting memories with the girls. But also it brought a lot of time for Daddy and I to think and plan about what we really wanted. And I really believe we must set goals to stay focused and achieve in life. If we just always roll with the flow, we are content with it, and not striving for me. And I really want to strive for better quality of life for our family. In many ways a simpler life. But a better life. We have some big dreams, and I am telling you, I have a motto “Sparkle and Shine”. I  carry this with me on various social media (Twitter/Instagram), my Scentsy Family Business, and even my PatTs Shirts & More Business. But I really believe we must dream with sparkles and shine, so that we want to work to get there! And I am dreaming with lots of sparkle and shine! And I know that 2013 is going to be a very blessed year that sparkles and shines through out!

 

I did a short time resolutions list for this year. Then I refined some of my bucket list, and even did an anti-bucket list. It was a lot of fun thinking and planning. I am going to share with you. And one of my resolutions is to blog more.. So what I am going to do is this, I am going to start fresh, and not try to catch up on the missing year… I will get it caught up, but it will be spread through out, and not hold me back from blogging. As blogging is something I really enjoy! And I have missed not only blogging, but my sweet blogging friends.

 

I will share my 2013 resolutions.......
1) spend more time daily with God.
2) not react to defiant outbursts from kids
3) be a better wife
4) let the one's that matter, know it way more!
5) vacation at a new place as a family
6) grow my businesses to new levels
7) visit family far away
8) remove the joy thieves from my life
9) at least 2 new recipes per month
10) take me time each week
11) blog regular
12) send snail mail at least once a week

 

 

A little snip it of my bucket list….

1) build our dream home (this meaning, we do lots of the work)
2) go to the rose parade
3) visit Australia
4) create an Adoption fund to help others adopt
5) do free photography for helping others capture specific times.. (adoption, and those loosing their babies that never left the hospital, and the beautiful ones fighting cancer)... these are times that those photographs could bring peace and a little joy to the families....
6) Make our business succeed!
7) see George Strait on the farewell tour
8) take our children to the Creation Museum
9) take a magical winter vacation.. It's all about Christmas Time
10) Set up as a vendor for a huge Bike Rally
11) Take our girls to HRLS
12) take a vacation in the fall to the NE
13) Live in one of my few dream locations
14) watch our girls become what they dream to be
15) be debt free
16) take the girls to see the great mouse and friends
17) see the canyon with snow
18) have a camper to enjoy as a family
19) own a piece of land.... many acres...
20) sew each of my girls a special quilt with clothing from baby to older...

 

 

And believe it or not, it was on facebook via several friends and I made an anti bucket list too… This was pretty funny. Not slamming anyone that doesn’t agree with me, but this list is mine and things I have no desire to do or be a part of.

 

The anti-bucket list.
1. Own any snake
2. Watch Twilight
3. Read 50 Shades of Grey
4. Never live in a Blue State
5. give up my 2nd amendment rights, I have no desire to ever be without guns. I love to go shoot, and I believe in hunting.
6. give up my right and freedom to homeschool
7. see my kids birth parents (again)
8. never bungee jump
9. vacation in a tent, yes I might would do a night, but to vacation for days, not at all.
10. be with out my husband by my side! as pooh says, 100 years minus 1 days, so I don't have to live without him!

bad habits on Day 4

Today it's not my favorite topic.....

day 4- a habit that you wish you didn’t have

It's not hard to know what the one habit, I really wish I didn't have, was! It was a true no BRAINER! I am a worrier! I worry so much! I worry about people and their feelings! If someone I know is not their self, I worry, and often myself sick. If someone I know is being hurt by others, I worry! If someone is having a bad day, yes I worry! I want peace and happiness so bad that I trully worry until I'm sick! So there it is, my biggest habit I would love to change!!! (and I am really working on this).

Snow day picture from childhood!

Today is Day 3. Yeah! It's a peaceful Saturday Morning here! I didn't have many pictures available to use today for this, the ones I had were pics with my cell phone of some pictures. So I am very sorry that it's not a good picture!

There you have it, a picture of me in the snow, probably around 1980, I am guessing. My love of the snow started long ago! But man look at those clothes and shoes and coat. Well, what you can see of them! It cracks me up!

I just love snow, it's beautiful, magical, and I love to bundle up! I really love how life slows day and usually stop to enjoy life. Well at least were I am, we do when it snows! We have fun days in the snow; making memories that will last a life time!

about me

As I sat here this morning with some peacefulness, I thought I would check in on a few blogs. As I haven't been keeping up, near as much as I'd like to. So I hit my blogger reader and planned to just go down the list. I came across Just Me ~ Bobbie Jo's blog today, and that lead me to Lovers in a Dangerous Time, the host of 30 days of blogging. So I decided to join up!

So there you have it, a recent picture of me. It was taken while we were sitting out on the back of hubby's truck, while he was busy busting his butt on the race car!

My facts ~

1) I love sweet tea and Dr Pepper, and no not together.

2) I always wanted to be a race car driver! Now I'm just an owner for a Saturday night Local Dirt Track Car, hubby will drive.

3) The only other thing I ever wanted so much, was to be a stay at home Mom, just like my mom!!! I thank God for this gift!

4) I'm the youngest sister of 3, and we all have daughters only, no sons!

5) I'm a forever die hard Dale Earnhardt fan!

6) I love car racing, but my favorite is truly the modifieds on the dirt!

7) I suffer greatly from Psuedotumor Cerebri. It has wrecked havoc!

8) I will be having bariatric surgery to help with the ptc! Hopefully to cure it! I can't wait to feel good again!

9) I'm pretty old fashioned, just ask my sisters, who think I make my girls way too old fashion!

10) I love hair bows and custom clothes for the girls!

11) my favorite colors are purple, and pink, and RED!

12) I sale Scentsy and The Gourmet Cupboard.

13) I am not a lover of summer! It's just too hot for me!

14) We are renewing our wedding vows this year!

15) I love pictures! Taking them, seeing them all around, frames for them!
