Molasses Crinkles

Click on the Cooking Thursday Banner, to be taken to Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, our awesome host of Cooking Thursday! You will find many other GREAT recipes!!!

This week, I am sharing a special recipe to me! I know it's the 2nd time I have shared it for Cooking Thursday, but with the new cookbook and all, I wanted to share again. Hope yall don't mind. It's a cookie recipe that is passed to me from my Mother in Law. She has made these since she was a kid. Her and I use to make this while we were making all our Christmas cookies to share with others!

Guess what arrived to my house! It was one of the first items to arrive in the mail at the new place! What a treat it was, to get last week! (The first piece of mail was a letter from GBP saying another recipe was being featured in a upcoming fall recipe book!) My free copy of 101 Cupcake, Cookie, & Brownie Recipes! My Molasses Crinkles are published in the cookbook!!! I am so excited!!! (I have 2 more free cookbooks coming in the coming months, with 2 other awesome recipes!)

Molasses Crinkles

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground ginger

water
garnish with sugar

In a bowl, mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, and molasses. Stir in remaining ingredients except garnish in the order listed. Roll dough into one-inch balls. Dips tops in sugar and place on ungreased baking sheets. Gently press a thumb print into each. Sprinkle one to 4 drops of water in each indentation. Bake 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack. Makes 4 dozen.

Hope you enjoy!!!!

Happy Days and friends!

I am so blessed with some awesome friends! The above really reminded me of just that! They are just like stars, I do not always get to see them, but they are there! Even when I feel far away and all alone, it doesn't mean they don't care. I am so thankful for each and everyone of them!

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul. Proverbs 27:9

I received an awesome gift, a gift certificate from my favorite, Gooseberry Patch! I love this company so much! I love all there products, especially their cookbooks and cake plates, and of course their Christmas ornaments!Click on their logo to be taken to their web site.

So I thought I'd share with you what I picked up with my gift. I shopped their annual After Christmas sale! And picked up both the valance and table runner for 60% off! What a blessing! I had been watching these items and wanting them. Then we decided to redo our kitchen and dinning room walls. I am excited about this! We are going to paint the walls a red! So this will be just darling with the items I already have and the red walls! I can't wait!

So when think you are alone or even unloved, stop and think, maybe they don't know you need them, unless you tell them, or maybe they need you too. No matter what we are never alone, we have God! God loves and will never leave us! He has blessed us with friends that love us too!
May you know you are loved!

How Exciting!!

I'm so excited. I received my free copy of Gooseberry Patch's new cookbook, Christmas Kitchen in the mail. I have 2 recipes published in this cookbook. If they publish one of your recipes you get a free copy of the cookbook. Click on the picture above and you will be taken to the Goose Berry Patch site!

I tell you this is one of their best cookbooks ever! In recent years, a few freinds have said that the quality of some of the recipes haven't been as good. But this is one awesome cookbook! It is full of wonderful recipes. I do not think any one could ever be disappointed in this cookbook!!! I entered both recipes, without ever thinking they would be picked for a Christmas book! This is even better, as Christmas is my favorite time of the year!!!

And something so exciting to me, in the summary about the cookbook, one of my recipes is listed!!! WOW! Sure makes me proud. *big smiles*

Here's one of my recipes in this cookbook ~

White Chocolate Popcorn

5 to 6 pkgs, butter flavored microwave popcorn, popped
24 oz pkg of white melthing chocolate or almond bark, chopped
6 (1.4 oz) of Nestles white chocolate crunch candy bars, chopped

Pour popcorn into a large bowl, removing any unpopped kernels. Combine chocolates in a large heavy saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir until melted and smooth. Pour over popcorn and mix well. Spread out on wax paper to cool. Package in small bags for gift giving. You can also sprinkle while chocolate is still warm, as soon as you spread out on the wax paper, with color sprinkles to make it festive for each holiday or special occassion.
