Faithful Friday ~ Living Life

JoyButton

Today I am going to share a poem, one that is found many places, but it says so much….

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey.

Be Honest. Work hard. Be choosy.

Say "thank you", "I love you", and "great job" to someone each day.

Go to church, take time for prayer.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.

Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper.

Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best you can.

Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be.

Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them.

Some of the best things really are free.

Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming.

Forgive, it frees the soul.

Take time for yourself - plan for longevity.

Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know.

Live for today, enjoy the moment."

by Bonnie Mohr

This is very true and inspirational to me! And it’s how I try to live my life! I hope that some part of these words or the entire thing will encourage you! I can’t imagine my life any other way, but  most of all, I can’t imagine it without the Lord and prayer! I mean that. Because of him, we have an abundant life to live! And when we live it abundantly in him, we have joy and peace! Be sure to dream big!!!

Faithful Friday's ~ He carried Me!

Wow! It sure has been a very long time since I have been here to post..... I am way sorry for the lapse in blogging. But I hope to soon be back on a regular basis!

But Something Lead me to be here today for Faithful Friday!

I have been in a big funk! It's not been one thing, it's been many. Way to many for this post tonight! I had lost myself in many many ways. But I have refocused and am doing so much better! God never left me, nor did he forsake me! He stayed right with us, through the valley! Every hill we had to climb he was right there!

As most of you know, I lost my mom going on 2 years ago. Will be 2 years at the end of Sept. I have had several reason that I didn't grieve, and it's just not at the point I am truly able to grieve. She was the GREATEST woman I have ever known, and a true example of a Proverbs 31 Woman. A dear dear friend, more like a sister, made me the most beautiful gift ever!

A beautiful quilt, it's made out of my momma's clothes! And it has  not been washed, so I can smell her! I know that God sent this at the very time he did, as it is the time I started to grieve and learn to function really again. And I had became a hoarder to things that I could find anyway at all to tie  to Momma. Like I may have bought it when her and I went to the store... Silly silly stuff. But I couldn't move on! Now I am moving on!

We moved and I was sorting through some stuff that I display with a tribute to My sweet Momma, and I found this little book, a book I had given her years ago. But I have it back, after she passed a way.

It's "Footprints ~ Scripture with Reflections Inspired by the Best Loved Poem"  Margaret Fishback Powers. This was my Momma's favorite poem,and I had given there this book for Easter 2000! 10 years before she passed away, and I found it this week, while unpacking, and I knew it was a message that I needed to hear.

So I will share this part of the poem, it was a true testament to how I have felt lately, and something my Momma raised us to have full belief in!

"I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always botherd me, and I questioned the Lord about my dilema.  "Lord, you told me when I decided to follow you, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm away that during this the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I needed You most, You leave me."  He whispered, "My precioud child, I love you and will never leave you, never ever during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.""

I have realized that in the darkest times that I have not grieved my Momma leaving me here, been beyond hurt and saddened that the baby didn't get to live with us, and that we have yet again faced work changes, a huge reaction to a medicine (that wrecked havoc in many ways, and feeling so very alone, I wasn't alone. My dear Lord carried me! Just like a baby, he held me and carried me to this point and I'm finally getting to a better place! Thank you, Jesus!

I'm Thankful

What a Beautiful Day!!! All the way around. It was a bit rainy again, and the temps even cooler. We had to put on some pants again. It was wonderful! They girls both had so much fun playing together and being outside today, after being kept in for several days.

We were off to check the mail, and I got in a catalog from The Country House. http://www.thecountryhouse.com/. Lil E loves to look at them and opened the page up and said Mommy look at this! On the page was a sign, of many things on this page, but it reads "Take time to be thankful". As we drove to pick up a friends mail for them, I knew this was so very true! This sign was just a reminder of what I had read on a blog just the day before, about how we take things for granted now. I'm so very guilty of this with some things, lots of things I have to admit. So we just stopped to enjoy some of God's blessings for us, there is many beautiful things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for the family I have, if it wasn't for God bringing my girls to me, I sure wouldn't have them! I'm thankful for the man I love. I'm thankful for a Heavenly Father that is so gracious and merciful, I'm thankful for my Lord and Saviour. I'm thankful for my family, for parents who taught me right from wrong and instilled morals into me, and kept me full of faith in God Almighty. I'm thankful for our loving Grandparents, they are very inspirational to us and when I married my husband I didn't have any grandparents of my own that were living, they had all gone to be with the Lord. His Grandma and Papa just took me right in. I'm thankful that God gave us all the chance to get to know each other so much more and for them to be such an important part of our lives! I'm thankful for my friends, they are my extended family. I'm thankful for the home I have, for the car I drive, for the chance to live out in the country. This allows us to the see the stars at night, to see lots of of God's creations that we wouldn't see back in town. I snapped a few photos of what we could see right there to be thankful for.

I'm thankful that when I looked out, I had the beautiful landscape to see, I could see the cows graising and the horses much nearer enjoying some green grass.

Then I looked at the color just right down at my feet! To some they are just weeds, but they are plants, God's plants. They are beautiful and just take a moment and look at those beautiful colors!

With this, I am thankful for eyes that have vision, so that I can actually see beauty of God's world around me! It is so much greater than I can even imagine, and we are living in it! Can you imagine how wonderful Heaven will be like? I sure can't even really begin to imagine it! I know it's much greater than one can even imagine! Every time I hear one of my favorite songs, "I can only Imagine" I tell ya, I know that I can't even imagine, and if I did, I believe I'd be standing in awe!

I'm thankful for cameras, so that I can capture and cherish daily life as well as all those special occasions! Above, Lil K was enjoying watching the cows in the pasture next to us and the dogs running about. And Lil E stopped for a picture for mommy, as she continued on to run about! She loves being outside! And Below Lil E was play cooking! I'm thankful that my kids have toys to play with and imaginations to make it so much for fun. Lil E has a cup of tea for you. Please take a sip while you are powdering what you are thankful for.

Tomorrow my baby girl will be 4! Wow, where does time go? It seems like just yesterday we were bringing our precious 5 week old lil darling home with us! I'm so thankful for the gift of Adoption! At that time we lived on the coast. Which brings me to say I'm thankful that we no longer live on the coast! But I do worry for all in the path of the storms. To our friends and family in Ike's projected path, know we are here and praying for you all. We will continue to pray for all that have been affected by all the storms!

We had so much fun playing today. The girls enjoyed the break in the rain so that we could play outside. Lil E ran and ran and ran some more, she had a ball playing on her riding toys too. Lil K had so much fun just standing up and bouncing! And even cooler than that was today was the first time, that she wore her first pair of boots! She has lil pink cowgirl boots! Both girls' first pair of boots were pink. Can you tell we love pink. *grin*

We sure hope you all had a wonderful day! Please remember to take the time to be thankful!

The Gift We Could Not Give Each Other....

As we are facing a big decision tomorrow, I have been stressed an worried, nervous and scared even, yet I know that God has made the way already for us, our family! This very weekend when I needed it most, I was touched! I can't at all describe the gift I have received. I was lead to some new blogs (new to me). All being spiritual and lead by Our Heavenly Father, and pouring over with blessings of adoption! I know this is a sign to me. To let God handle it, if I give it to him, it will all work out! So I am doing just that, "God, Our Father in Heaven, I am giving this struggle about the future over to you. Thank you for making the way. In Jesus' name, Amen." Wow, that much more simple than I had ever dreamed it could be.

I want to share some song lyrics with you. They were a blessings to me tonight for sure! You should also check out www.fromGodsarms.com

The Gift We Could Not Give Each Other
Words and Music by Michael Mclean

When she was a little girl she held her dolls like children.
Dreaming of the day when she'd have babies of her own.
Now those dolls lie on a shelf as lifeless as the dreams she dreamed.
It's become the deepest ache her heart has ever known.
There's a man who's trying his best to comfort her with roses.
Telling her he'll find a way to make their dreams come true.
He's been saying this for years, but now his tears reveal the truth.
In his heart he fears there's nothing else that they can do.
Then a gift is given, a phone call straight from heaven.
There's a child that's nearly due that a young girl's giving you.
She gave more than just one life when she makes of this man and wife a father and a mother.She gives the gift they could not give each other.
More than we could ever know this couple thanks the heavens.
Every time they hold their child, they feel they hold the world.
Words will never be enough to share the way the family feels.
From deep inside their hearts they want to tell that girl:
Not a day is ever through till we've thanked the Lord for you.
Your sweetness lingers near in our hearts and thoughts and prayers.
You gave more than just one life when you made of this man and wife,
a Father and a Mother. When you gave the gift we could not give each other.
You have changed our lives forever. Only you and God above could give this gift of love we could not give each other.

~~~~~~
I'm very blessed, I have a husband that has always accepted me and my infertility and knew that we would have a family some day. He knew and believed it long before I did. But he always said no matter what was in God's plan, he knew that he and I were meant to be together and he would never stop loving me! I am honored to say he is truly my best friend, the most wonderful man I know. Adoption is a blessing, it's been a blessing to the two of us, as our family continues to grow, I know that there are birthmoms out there, that are giving us, with the help from God, the biggest gift of all! Our precious children! Thank you, God, for trusting us so much with the most precious gift! I hope and pray we never let you down.
God's Strength!
I wanted to share something with everyone! I had this other video shared with me a few days ago. I was greatly touched the first time, but the awesomeness of this Dad and Our Heavenly Father. But I was so overcome by emotions I couldn't see much further, even the depths of our strength from God. Then when I rewatched it again, it hit me much harder!!!
It took me back to a time in my own life. I had not been married too long. I had injured my left knee and was in rehab. Then low and behold I break my right leg and mess up my knee. I couldn't get around on the crutches very well because of my left knee injury kept me from being able to bare the weight on my left leg and no weight was allowed on my right leg at all. At this time, my daddy came to stay with hubby and I. Let me tell you about my daddy, he has heart condition, had broken his back and destroyed one of his legs. He can't get around to well. And to top it off he suffers from RA. But daddy said I'll be right there to take you too the doctor and therapy every day, as he was retired, so that hubby could continue to work. When he arrived he realized just how bad of shape I was in. He and hubby would literally have to pick me up and carry me to places and to the restroom and all. It was so hard for everyone. But you know what it was only because he got his strength from God that he was able to do this, as physically you it was thought and believed to be impossible! All things are possible with God!!! Thank you, Daddy, I can't imagine my life without him! (and he has a birthday coming up really soon!) Daddy is such a great Godly man and the light just radiates off of him! I love you, Daddy!
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:13
I didn't share this to take anything away from this father and son in the video, but to show just how we can all gain our strength from God!!!
Invisible
I did tend to think that what I had been doing was going unoticed a lot and that I was even invisible to some. Until today it bothered me! But then someone (Without even knowing) (Thank you Heart4MyHome!) shared this video with me! I finally got it! I'm suppose to be invisible. I want him to see and the others to just enjoy my work!!! I want my kids and husband and family and friends to enjoy the things I do without thinking anything more of it! It's my blessing to do these things! And I know that!!! I have been touched with the gift of adoption and I want my girls to always see it as the blessing it is, because they know that I did everything I did for them, because of the love of God and that I did it with a happy heart and love!!!! I'm so blessed and I will do my job with a happy heart and proud smile that I'm invisible! May God's smiles on my invisible work shine the Light of Jesus with all that I do!
Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything.
II Corinthians 7:16
