Country Life Delights

We were having a fussy nothing is going right kind of day, the other day. So the girls and I went out for a little drive to see some beautiful nature! Well we had stopped on the side of the road and was watching a turkey. They girls were laughing at it and getting all excited! And then this is what happened next.........

We looked up to see some deer running off! Four were scared and ran off! Lil E really loved watching them run. But this one stayed behind and watched us! We stayed on the road and watched each other for more than 5 minutes. Lil K would say, "look that". And Lil E was all excited, it's looking atus Mommy! The time came, and we had to head back home. So we said Good Bye to this beautiful deer and it slowly wondered away as we were driving away.

It brings me great joy to know we live in an area where we are blessed to see so many of God's creatures! We love the wild life and all the animals we are exposed to! It's the coolest to see the road runners in the front yard! I have yet to obtain a good picture of those fast little guys.

We feed Peter Cotton Tail lettuce and cabbage. He has been around since he was lil guy! He is growing up right before us too. And he is always eating in the same place in our yard on his own and then were we feed him too.

The large tree out back in the pasture behind our yard, it has a Hawk nest and we love to see her fly in and out!

I could go on and on! We love the country life! And I'm so glad God has blessed us with the ability to live in a place that is not all city. A place where people are a blessing and really do care about their neighbor. A place we can run about and breath clean fresh air!

Hugs and Blessings,

What a blessing it is to see GOD'S hand in nature and the wildlife. I feel for those living in the big city as they miss out on so much of this.

I second what Evening Shade said!

We live in an area that I like to call "controlled" country. :)
We are 50 miles from downtown Kansas City, but only 12-15 minutes from a large suburub where I do my grocery/wal-mart/pharmacy shopping. We live in a small town that got its first stoplight last year (at the intersection of the main drag and the on/off ramp to the highway), and has only 1-elementary school, middle school and high school in town. I love Friday nights in the fall b/c I can see the stadium lights from my porch!

We do live in a subdivision (which is to my husband's dismay), but it is sort of plopped into the middle of nowhere. In fact, the back portion of the subdivision backs up to the Bayer Agricultural Research Farm. There is an actual working farm on the little side road you take to get to the subdivision. I too love that we see deer, wild turkey, and farm animals on a daily basis. No roadrunners though...so I'll be waiting for you to snap that pic!

Blessings to you, Patty,
Valerie
