Our weekend getaway (part 1)

WOW! It is time to go! We are packed, the car is loaded and we are heading out!!!! We took a weekend trip, just the two of us! We had not even had a dinner date in 2 years! Not once through the adoption process of Lil K! We had weathered a lay off, a move, the adoption process, sickness, and other hard times in the last 2 years, and had not even had one dinner with just us! And that is ok, I wouldn't trade anything for what we have! I would do it a million times again! But we were excited for the time to go on a weekend trip for us! And to many, it may not be much, but we had the time of our life!!!!

Hubby took a personal day and we headed out Friday morning! (oh don't you worry the girls are in GREAT hands! They are with my parents for this mini trip!) We got up and headed out! We made a Scentsy delivery on our way out of town! And then hit the highway! We stopped for lunch! And something happened. I was totally saddened by. We were eating in a town along the way, that is home to an active Air Force Base. Well you can maybe she where I am going with this. There was a large crowd of uniformed Military Folks eating lunch! And you know what, when I said Thank you for your service to them, you won't believe what was next! Total shock from them!!! This really made me sad! People do not forget to say thank you to those that serve! Without them, we wouldn't have our freedoms! They do it for you and me and every other person in this great Country!!! So Thank you so much to every person that has or will serve!!! (I do come from a Military Proud family, so this is something that really hurt me!)

We got there and did a little shopping! Man what girl doesn't love a new purse! We went to Sammoons! Yes I was like a kid in a candy store! We wanted it to be a nice relaxing time, so we took it easy and enjoyed a dinner out, and headed back to the hotel!!! Be warned this is going to make you laugh!

In our Jacuzzi, I poured the bubble bath in! Well let me just say, it wasn't bubbling up while the water was filling up the tub! So I kept adding and adding more bubble bath! I leaned back to enjoy, but was still a little disappointed by the few bubbles! Oh but let me tell you that soon changed! And did it ever change!!!!

As you can see we had lots and lots of bubbles! Once the jets were turned on, the bubbles kept growing and growing and growing! They didn't stop!!!!!! This continued and continued! Yes it was crazy! It took hubby 2 hours of draining the jacuzzi and adding water to rinse the bubbles away! And he kept scooping bubbles with our ice container and rinsing those bubbles down the regular tub! So it was 2 hours of hard work for a Texas Size Bubble Mess! Leave it to me!! :o)

Saturday mornng we got up and went to do a little sight seeing! We ventured to Downtown Fort Worth! And let me tell you, it was pure crazy! They were having an Art Festival Downtown, the there was so much other stuff going on. (The big annual softball and baseball tournament, Stuff at the Stockyards, Opening night at the Horse Track, and much more!) If you have not ever visited the the Fort Worth Water Gardens, I would highly recommend them! They are so beautiful and peaceful!!! Here's a few pictures to share.

I just loved this picture of the Flags! Fort Worth, Texas, and USA!!!!

After a great time there! We were out and about! And look at this awesome Texas Grill going down the highway! How awesome it was!!!!! I thought it was just too neat not to share!!!!

Then we had lunch at my favorite place, Cheddars! And we shared my favorite dessert, The Cookie Monster! And no place makes the copy dessert like Cheddars' original. It was so yummy! And you should go try one for yourself!!!

Stay tuned.....

Hugs and Blessings,

I'm so happy you guys got some time away! We get regular time off (thanks to being so close to my parents!) and it's a huge help, but it's no substitute for actually getting away from home. It looks like you had a great time, and I'm really thrilled that the two of you finally got some alone time!
