One of my favorite times of the week is Cooking Thursday. I love new recipes and I love to share recipes with others. Today I am sharing a family favorite. It was the way we grew up eating bbq chicken. It was the only way I knew BBQ was cooked. It’s Momma’s way.
4 – 6 boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced in to a couple of pieces and then slit each piece to let the sauce run deeper in.
1 small onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 bottle of barbecue sauce (your style and choice of brand)
1/2 bottle (use your bbq sauce bottle) of warm water, shook up to get all sauce off too
1 tsp minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all but the chicken in the baking dish. After all mixed together, add in the chicken. Cover and bake at 350 for about 2 hours, or until chicken is done. Or turn the oven down and cook all afternoon, so that it falls apart. (this is what mom would do most of the time. She could make the most moist bbq chicken ever).
Hope you and your family enjoy this! Click on the picture, to get this weeks other great Cooking Thursday recipes.
Hugs and Blessings,
