Adoption

A Special Bond of Love
by Karen Ledbetter
A poem of thanks to a birth mother.

Once strangers, not knowing of each other,
God brought us together
To share a special bond of love
With a sweet little girl.

You may never understand the pain
Or know the tears I cried.
My heart's desire was for a child
To nurture, love, and guide.

I may never understand the pain
Or know the tears you cried.
You said good-bye to this precious child,
Entrusting me to nurture, love, and guide.

I see your face in her pretty smile,
And love in her sparkling eyes.
She's the answer to countless prayers,
A blessing to many lives.

No longer strangers,We share a special bond of love
With a very precious gift
From our God above.

I am sharing a lil about one my biggest blessings! My daughter! Yes, she is adopted, but she is still mine! Fully and completely mine! God knew she was mine before I did. He knew all along she was the one for us. Adoption is beautiful and special! So before we move forward here, please know this and respect and understand this! She is mine, my daughter! She is my blessing! It doesn't matter who gave birth or not, that is not what makes you Mom. Adoption has been the best gift ever! So I wanted to share a couple of poems with you to maybe help you understand how special adoption really is! As some don't see it as the blessing it is! We are all loved by God as his child, so as Christians we should be able to love others like this. If we do this, we wont be seeing adoption as negative, but only as the blessing it is! As well as we aren't going to see any of the labels on our children that the world may give, Adoptive, Step, and so on. Just remember they are our children and love them that way! I hope that this message is able to help others see the true love we have for our children, the Love our Father God has for us! Blessings to all!

Psalm 127 ~ Children are a gift of the Lord, like arrows in the hand of a warrior.

This Is Our Daughter
By Jill Work

THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER.
We adopted her,
but we will NOT be
referring to her as "our adopted daughter."
She is simply "our daughter".

THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER--
and the niece of her aunts and uncles,
the grandaughter of her grandparents,
the cousin of her cousins,
and the sister of any future children
we add to the family
by biology or adoption.

THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER.
There is no "return policy"
on an adopted child.
The whole idea of adopting
is a lot like marriage.
You make a lifetime
commitment to a person
with no biological
relationship to you.
You promise to "love and cherish"
for "richer, for poorer,
for better, for worse,
in sickness and in health-
as long as we both shall live."

THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER,
and we ARE her real parents.
She has birth parents (sometimes called biological parents),
but we are her Mom and Dad,
and always will be.

THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER,
and we love her.
We hope that you will too!
