I am back to blogging and I am back to participating in Cooking Thursday.. Check out Cooking Thursday for more great recipes. Sept 15 we will be switching to Slow Cooking Thursday! This is so exciting to me! I love my crock pot!
With fall around the corner, and my fall directions went up Monday. I thought I'd share a fall themed recipe...
Pumpkin Bread
2 c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking soda
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. canned pumpkin
¼ c. milk
½ c. chopped nuts
¾ tsp all spice
In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, all spice, and soda. In separate bowl mix brown sugar and shortening; beat in eggs add in pumpkin and milk and mix well. Combine all ingredients and stir in nuts. Pour batter in a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Wrap and store overnight before serving.

And as always, I love that you celebrate Christmas in July. I think that is such a cute idea. I wanted to try and do that this year, but time got away from me...with Luke's 1st birthday on July 29th, I was in monkey-party overdrive! :)
