I'm doing the Christmas Home Tour 2010, hosted by Nesting Place. Be sure to check out many other great Christmas Homes!
This year, with the upcoming move in Jan, we aren't going all out! So to make it special and still feel festive, I decided, I would go simple and much less, but use the most special pieces! Most of these having something to do with Momma! So please enjoy your tour here, a small stop in Podunkville, USA!
We really went small for the outside this year. In one of the living room windows, facing outside, you have the little bear train and musical toy box! The toy box was mom's, and she would put in our front window every year, as long as I can recall.
And Santa is welcoming you at the door!
My Lil Tour Guide Helper, Lil E, is greeting you at the front door! So please do come on in.
Right after you are in, and we close the door behind you, you can see just where are stocking hang! This year, everyone got new stockings. Daddy has the Cars one, since he is the going to be racing. Mine is the blue and white snowman, because I am blue this Christmas without Momma. Lil E got the Hello Kitty, because she loves pink and cats. Lil K got her favorite, Melmo aka Elmo. And Little Bit got the all new Joy reindeer!

The tree sits right by our front door, and it's one James made me last year. Do you see, Momma's "Grandma Got Ran over by a Reindeer"? The girls love it!Next you will find our one of a kind village! I'm so blessed with this wonderful master piece! Hubby painted each and every house in our village! I couldn't be more proud of it, even if it was village 56 or something else! I had some other village pieces prior to hubby painting these, and as you can see, I have gotten rid of all of them.
Momma painted the carolers for us many years ago. Probably in 2000. Maybe even 1999. Right around there though.

On here, is another painted Santa and Mrs Clause with two reindeer at the bottom, a couple of snowman picture frames, and then up top our very special Nativity! This Nativity was a gift from a family friend, and then my in laws made the stable for us.

This Nativity was a gift from a family friend, and then my in laws made the stable for us. At top the entertainment center sits some reindeer and sleigh, with a bright red Believe sign. The reindeer and sleigh were my Grandmother's.
On the other side is Hope and a few Snowmen.
Then we have the Nativity Candle Holder hubby painted Mom in 2002.
Now for the full look ~

I just added this cute little Merry Christmas trunk, that I picked up at Hobby Lobby, to hold our Christmas cards this year.

Now for the end table by my chair! This is one special setting for me! This beautiful musical Jim Shore's angel was Momma's, and she now is forever mine. I think she is just beautiful, and always did. Momma bought her in 2006, and I loved her, so Momma tried to give her to me, instead of using her herself. I refused and told her, you enjoy her, and one day she can come home to me. Well Momma did enjoy her for the a few more years, and now she has a new home here with us! And then this is the first year that Momma isn't with us, so I since I couldn't deliver her picture of the girls, I bought a special frame to hold it. The frame has a beautiful blue bird, Momma's favorite. And as we called it the blue bird song, Momma use to sing Winter Wonderland to me, all year long. As well as Momma would always say, a little blue bird told me. We had so much to say about blue birds. They will forever be dear to me!

Last little spot in the living room, is our small Celebrate Jesus tree, with the Heavenly Scentsy warmer, and Church birdhouse, and angels painted by Momma.
The tree skirt was handmade by a very dear friend of mine, this is our 11th's year to use the tree skirt. I just love it!

A few of our my favorite ornaments!

I have a set of balls that were Momma's and this blue one is just one of them. It's the one I decided to share, as it's blue, like me, and was Momma's favorite color.
In the above picture you can see the stocking momma painted us in 1999 that hold our engagement picture. Plus below you can see them better, the tiny red and green ball, was one we made momma. Then the new ornaments to honor momma this year, are the two blue birds! I love them so much! And I got the tiny blue bird in a set of 4. I kept one, one is going to each of my sisters, and the last one to dad. On the wall in the dinning room.
So this isn't much to most, and it's super simple, it's a very special year this year and filled with special Christmas Memories, and full of Momma! She may not be with us here, but she is forever with us! Just this year, she is blessed to be spending Christmas with Jesus!
Thank you for stopping by, and I really hope you did enjoy! Don't forget to visit all the other great Christmas Home tours. And most of all, no matter what, remember to share the love this Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas to all!
Hugs and Blessings,

How adorable! To me, it does look like you went all out. All I've got up so far is our tree lol. I'm not even sure where to put the stockings. I really love your decorations and can't wait to see the new house all set up!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I visited yours also and enjoyed looking at all of your decorations. Thanks for the sweet message and I hope you and your family have a Merry
Christmas and a blessed New Year.
Don't dare apologize (although I did too - ha!) - I love your decor (and your adorable kids!). The serving pieces are so sweet, and like you I love the pieces with MEANING. Thanks for inviting me!
Prayers for you too, missing your mom. I'm not looking forward to facing that in my future.
