Chicken Tortilla Soup and Taco Seasoning

I thought I'd share a yummy Crock pot recipe with everyone this week! YOu can click on the banner and it will take you to, Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, our awesome hostess, Sandra. There you will find many more great slow cooking/ crock pot recipes.

Chicken Tortilla Soup

2 cups (cooked and shreeded chicken or cubed chicken)
1 small to medium onion, chopped
1 - 2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped
2 garlic cloves, pressed or chopped
1 TBSP taco Seasoning (I make my own now, and will post that recipe at the bottom)
6 cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup thick and chunky salsa
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup of fresh cilantro

I add everything together in my crockpot. I usually cook on high for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours, or on low 3 to 4. Serve or tortilla chips or strips, and garnish with cheese, sour cream, and diced tomatoes (if desired).

Taco Seasoning

6 tsp chilli powder
5 tsp cumin
2 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix together and store in air tight container!

Hope all enjoy!
Hugs and Blessings,

Your tortilla soup sounds really good. That's one of our favorites. I host a weekly blog event called Crock Pot Wednesday. I would love for you to join me for that. Thanks a bunch.
