Looking Back

Where did time go? I can't believe how fast summer flew by. I mean really, where did it go? It seems like yesterday it was just starting. And our late summer heat wave, sure didn't make it seem like it was starting to end. The kids in town have started back to school, and summer is on the way out. Lil E will be starting Pre K after the Labor Day, just a couple of days a week. And that is totally fine with Mommy. We really had a lot of fun this summer!

As I sat here looking back, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pictures from the summer.

Some fun from around our home...

Our 4th of July.
Lil K's first pony ride......

I really can't believe how fast life is flying bad, and how much the girls are growing up. Just over the summer, I can see how much they have grown! The things they do. How they play. It's just trully life's sweetest moments! I'm blessed beyond!

Show us your Life ~ Baby Shower

If you haven't ever, check out Kelly's Korner. It's a wonderful and uplifting blog, not to mention all the great ideas you can get each week from all the sharing!

This week is Show us your Life ~ Baby Shower

Just a few weeks back, we threw a virtual baby shower for a dear friend. They have relocated and are miles and miles from their friends and family. So myself and another friend, planned it out. It was set up, so that everything arrived within a day or so of each other. Including all the decorations, gifts and all. It was the best surprise ever! She loved it and was so overwhelmed by the love of everyone and that we pulled it off without her knowing. So I have attached a few pictures of the special decorations we made.

My friend, made the beautiful diaper cake! Isn't it just awesome! It was her first one ever, but she did great!

Then I did this wreath below!

And my friend made this bouquet of cute sock flowers! Aren't they just precious! I can't wait to make some for the next shower!

And then a few months back, I helped another friend host a baby shower. It was to be something small.

These cupcake rattles were made by our friend, who does cakes on the side! Aren't they precious?

Here's a picture of the table set up. We did a wreath here too. And then we had blue m&m's that side boy on them, and blue hershey kisses that on the streamer said "it's a boy." Just a few little small touches to make it special.

I thought I'd share a fun game we did too. We had cute bingo cards. Then everyone was given one. They were to write down what they thought she might get as a gift. They could not write down any one item more than twice. Then we played bingo as she opened up the gifts! Everyone loved the twist on it, and it was so fun to hear what everyone had put down.

It's a special Anniversary around here...

Today is a very special day! It's the 4th Anniversary for Lil E's Adoption Day! I still remember that day, as if it just happened! Now the tapping my foot in the hall way waiting! But it trully was a special day for our family! And we make sure it's remembered as a special day every year for her! (and we will do the same for Lil K). So today was all about what Lil E wanted! She picked the meals, the snacks, the activities! It was a day of pampering and spoiling and lots of hugs and loves!

We had Mc Donalds for lunch, as it was her pick. Then we played dress up and all that good stuff! We had so much fun and enjoyed all the laughs and dancing that came with dressing up! The girls had a ball!

Lil E and Mommy were busy baking a special butterfly cake too! She picked the colors and all! And as always, helped decorate it up!

She picked pizza for dinner and then we had a great evening together! We all had a wonderful time! But trully, we are so blessed to be choicen by God to be the parents of this special princess! She really is a ray of light for me! She is always my sunshine! She is the most loving sweetie pie ever! She is simply my angel! Below is a sweet picture as we were relaxing and watching tv tonight!

She is one of lifes greatest joys ever! And I'm so thankful to all that were involved in the adoption process, and to the special Birth Mom that gave me the gift of children, but gave my girls the gift of a loving stable home! It trully is a special day in our home!!!
Lil E, Happy 4th Anniversary, My sweet precious Girl! We love you!

Some fun at the park

We spent some girls time out the park this week. Just the 3 of us girls. First Mommy took some pictures of the girls, and then we had some fun playing!

They had on their I'm the Big Sister/ I'm the Little Sister shirts. I love them! They are just precious! We got them from Cowgirl Creations, click on the name and you can go to her site.

We were all on the tetter totter deal! It was a great time! We had lots and lots of fun! But I can't believe my baby girl is growing up so fast! Lil K isn't a baby anymore! In the last week, we have taken her baby bed down, so now she is in a toddler bed. And then we go to the park, and what did she do? She made it up the steps, up the tunnel, over the bridge, and down the slide! All by herself! Mommy going around to make she she didn't go down some place she could get hurt! I was so proud of her! It really didn't make me sad, because I know they will get to enjoy playing together so much more! Below is a pic that shows the path she took. This is when she was going again!

We really had a great week! Lil E and I made the Chocolate Chip Cup Cakes, we were able to go the park, we ran errands and had some fun here in town, and then we were even able to enjoyu a fun day yesterday out and about with a friend of mine! We went shopping and out to lunch. We did get some fall clothes. I decided to beat the rush of next weekend (Big sales and tax free). It's better for me to go ahead and just do it now, while I was there. So we did!

Today we are going to have l unch with daddy, and then we are all going to the races tonight. It's the sports mods big show, so we will be busy rootin our friend on! And I'm beyond ready for some racing!

Happy Saturday to you and yours!

Froggy Potty

I have to tell yall a funny. Once again my sweet Lil E totally cracked us up! A few weeks back, when we were in another town (who has a froggy pizza), Lil E wanted to eat at the frog Pizza place, her daddy said no, they may tee tee on the food. We both had forgot about this. She is so into fifty questions, and he was just saying anything to stop the questions that day. Nothing else has been said since then. Today while there again, we stopped to eat at the froggy pizza place. I pull up and park and Lil E says no way we can't eat here. I am like why? (not remembering the conversation a month ago). She says "because daddy said yast time that the frog will pee on my food!" I bust out laughing.... James tells her, no, the frogs lick up the bugs so the bugs don't pee on the food! she is like oh ok! it was hillarious! I laughed so hard! Just had to share another silly moment in our world!

Cream Corn ~ Slow Cooking Thursday

Click on the banner and it will take you to Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, where you will find more great slow cooking recipes! There is always something so yummy to be found in the list!

Now it's getting time for back to school and Labor Day is coming upon us really soon. So it's big BBQ's and cook outs and lately really HOT temps to go along too. And I know I don't like to take too many items that can spoil or ruin if you they do not stay cold. So I am sharing a great recipe with you for a great BBQ / Cook Out side dish in your crock pot!

Cream Corn

2 (16 oz) bags frozen corn
2 (8 oz) cream cheese and onion and chive spread, softened
2 tablespoons of butter
1/4 c. chopped green onion (great with fresh garden onions)
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
sprinkle with salt, to taste

Mix all together in your crock pot. Cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or on High about 3. You can also add in some grated cheedar cheese and crumbled bacon for a Creamed Corn Casserole. Either way it just yummy!!!

Hope you and yours enjoy!

Visiting The Little Farm

Sorry it is taking me so long to catch up. After the storm last week, we had clean up to do this weekend, and I sprained my ankle really bad. It is nasty bruised and swollen still. SO I am trying to take it easy and keep it up.

Hope you enjoy some more pics from The Little Farm we visited. It's a great wholesome place. They host birthday parties and such. They do pony rides, petting farm animals, they have down home farm/ country games for the kiddos. They even have a beautiful set up of tables and benches for the party area too.

The kids loved feeding Sassy the baby goat! And Lil K just loved her so much! She wanted to hold her! It was too sweet!!!

Lil K's very first pony ride! She loved it more than the other kiddos for sure! She was just too excited and happy! And she did not want to get off at all!

Lil E loved the pony too, and she really loved catching gold fish! That was probably the funniest thing ever!

They played horse shoes and tote sack races! Everyone really had so much fun!!!! It was a great day!

Storm Damage Photos

The above pic is pole off our tampoline that is the to right of where the trampoline was stationed down with the rebar! The straight line winds were right to left, but we had pieces all directions.

The swing set did not just tip over, it was turned a completely different direction, and in a different location, as well as the slide twisted.

Below, the next 3 photos are of one of the motels. It roof was toally gone, as was their front wall.

Below is more damage from the motel and this restraunt too.

Now this next picture, is of the hotel, on the other side of the restraunt, and this damage is in the opposite direction.

And the other scariest part to see today, was this mobile home totally turned upside down! I can't even imagine!!! Totally unreal!

Just wanted to share some of the photos from today with yall. It was scary for sure! There was lots more damage, and tons of tree limbs everywhere. I have to say though, it is nice to see everyone out helping everyone with clean up! Another blessing to small town living!

Our Weather - YUCK

The weather was nasty last n ight!!!!! :( We lost power, internet was out for a bit, but worse was a tornado came! We are ok. My house is ok, it didn't get it, but the kids stuff in the back yard and lawn furniture and stuff are not ok. The trampoline is gone, and the swingset is a bit damaged! And I don't want to hear it was straight line winds anymore, it wasn't! I heard it outside! And nothing in our front yard was touched & and our grill and the small kids swing that were away from the other area, but in the back yard, are in the same place! As well as small push and ride toys! The freaky part is that the trampoline is in different directions! And a pole from it was stabbed into the ground a different direction that the other stuff went. We had our trampoline secured with rebarr, that went into the ground about 12 inches... So it actually tore it up! It's in many pieces and not sure if we will ever find it all, as a lot was carried away! The swing set, didn't just lay over, it was over and spun around! Most importantly we are all ok. Just shook up! Thank God for his protection of us!

As for our town, areas were greatly damaged by straight line winds! They were confirmed to be at 102 mph! The hotel that we lived in (for a month) when we first moved to town and was looking for us a home, one area, lots the front wall and the roof! They did have some injuries! Lost of places had all kinds of damage! But what shook me up the most, was when we ran to town today, there was a mobile home park hit, and this one mobile home, didn't just go on it's side! It's upside down! Totally picked up and then threw down, but upside down! The bottom and wheels were up top and the rest crushed! This is just really really heart breaking! Terrible sadness!

But I have to say again, I am so so thankful that, Jesus kept us safe and protected us. As well as the town, it really could have been a lot worse!

I know the storms stretched far across the nation and lots have been having bad weather, I pray everyone is safe and ok!

Hugs and Blessings,
