A Simple Day of Country Living

We are so blessed to live out in the country! It's what hubby and I have always wanted! Our neighbors (good friends) have a horse that we love. We gave him a nick name of Buddy, and we just love to feed him and pet him. It's so peaceful out here, we can sit on the back deck and just see country all around! Then when Buddy comes up to our fence we can pet and love on him.

Buddy was trying to get Lil E's attention, she he kept getting her pants and then kissing her and daddy! It was just too cute.

Then we all headed over to the park for some fun! We took the ducks some bread today. I don't think they get enough food in the winter, so I make sure to go and feed them. I love it!

We were just enjoying watching the ducks and geese. It was beautiful today and they sure were glad for some extra food. After we fed the ducks all of us headed to the playground for lots more fun!

Here's a picture of my family, Lil K is enjoying the swing, while Daddy and Lil E are playing chase!

Then after we came home, we had lots more fun and mommy and daddy even played a game of sequence. I love that game! Then it was time for our dinner and to settle down for the night. We had salad with grilled Chicken for dinner tonight. It was yummy! Daddy is an awesome griller!
Days like today, make me step back and reflect at just how blessed I am! God has blessed me beyond! I would have never imagined life to be this wonderful! When God moved us here, I wasn't sure why, and sometimes I still have a hard time, but I'm so thankful for all the little moments and the times like today! They remind me, just why we were moved here! I love the simple country life! It's wonderful! And what a wonderful way for my girls to enjoy life.

Life

Just thought I'd share some pictures and a bits of our life with yall. I love my family, and I am so thankful for them! I'm greatful for the love, the smiles, tears, and everything in between. Just like my new lil blinkies (from the cutest blog site) say Each day is a Gift! And I'm thankful for every gift I get! Life is precious, so we need to live, laugh, and love! We need to have no regrets! Be thankful for what you have and cherish every moment!

Today was a GREAT day! We had our usual stuff and then it was to the doctor for Lil K's 1 year old shots. She received a clean bill of health! Thank you Jesus! I'm so proud of my baby girl!

These were all taken today, while we were hanging out at home.

Lil E is mommy's lil reader! She loves books!! All books.

These pictures below are actually from the park trip on Saturday!

Everyone had so much fun. And us girls were happy that Daddy could join us! It was cold, but we had a blast while there. We did cut the time down a little as it was super windy!

So live to have no regrets! Cherish the moments that take our breath away! And make sure to laugh, it awesome for the soul! All together it makes my life much better!

Not your usual Sunday Dinner

Sunday Dinner started out as a treat that is simple and we love, but don't have very often! Then the next thing I knew was we had done it all! OH MY! There was just too much friend food. We hardly ever eat fried food so it was way overboard. As a family favorite, we have homemade beer battered (we use light and have even used non alcoholic beer) corn dogs. We usually have these with some baked beans, maybe some coleslaw and fries. Every once in awhile we have onion rings too, but this is even more rare. The last time we fixed it was a year and half ago (all three of them). Well so we decided to have some deep fried pickles and corndogs. As I started i thought I'd make hubby some onion rings, as they are his favorite. Well then he decided to try to do it up (after watching deep fried paradise on the travel channel the other day). He made battered and deep fried potatoes. I wasn't very impressed. But I did love the corn dogs and pickles! The girls loved the corn dogs and of course Lil E loved the pickles too!

To make the batter
1 12 oz can of beer
1 - 1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp salt

We have used this batter for deep friend mushrooms too.

Now it's time to get back to our healthier choices. We have decided we have 1 full splurge like this a week. Not just meaning fried, but un healthy foods. I know one night we are having Salad with grilled chicken this week. And crock pot fajitas too. Other than that I am not sure what we will have yet. I'm not much of a menu planner. I'm sure you already know that though.

Hope you and yours had a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Saturday!

Hope you all had a wonderful week and a great day today! We have had a nice week. We made a couple of trips to the park, spent lots of time playing and doing family things. We all bundled up and went to the park today too. It was cold. so it was just the 4 of us. We had lots of fun! Then after we were back home, I decided to clean out the computer/ scrapbooking, junk collecting room! It is truly our catch all! So I am going through things, you would really be surprised at all the things we collect, that we don't need, have not use for, and just plain should throw on to the trash! Since we downsized last spring to our home, we made this room a catch all. But I tell you, it is truly overwhelming to have so much going on, so many functions and I really want to stream line it. If I am working on streamlining my life and decluttering my life, that must mean this room too! So I started the dreaded job today! I have a bigger mess right now, but when, I'm all finished I'll share some pictures with you all. I have cleaned out my scrapbooking stashes, my fabric, books, and all sorts of other stuff too! It truly is amazing how much one has! Maybe just maybe, when I am finished I can actually get some scrapping done. I have only tinkered with my cricut (have had for nearly a year) and as it sits here, so does my other stuff too. So I need to put it all to use! Hopefully soon I'll have some scrap projects to share too! I have some plans to make some bingo cards up too, for our family reunion this May! I'm heading off to bed and then tomorrow, hopefully I'll finish this project!

Getting back into our routine

Getting back into our routine! We took down our Christmas decorations over the weekend. I hated to see them go, but was glad to get order back too. I must admit, even though I wasn't ready to take them all down. After it was all done, I was able to sit by my table and read a cookbook and relax! Awesome!!! I have really enjoyed looking through my cookbooks and picking out some recipes to make in the coming weeks! Tomorrow will be some sort of a soup or casserole. Not sure which yet. I'm so thankful for this time we are having with Daddy working the day shift. It is awesome, he gets up in the morning and either empties the dish washer or something awesome to help me out! He is such a wonderful husband and helps me out so much! I don't nag him or ask him, he just likes to help when he is home and has the free time. Like Monday morning before work, he cleaned out the fridge with anything that was out of date and took the trash out on his way to work! How lucky am I? I'm so thankful for all he does! He is the most wonderful husband and dad! I love him so much!!!!

Yesterday morning we had a visitor out front. Peter Cotton Tail was back. We were feeding him, but hadn't seen him in some time, then I heard something and looked out, and there he was! What a sweet surprise, and he sure had grown up. We feed him "rabbit food" as Lil E would say, lettuce, cabbage, or carrots! And Lil E loves rabbit food too! :) She asked always, can we have some rabbit food.

Then today, it was pretty. It was a crisp and cool, but nice enough to go outside and play. So off to the park we went. The girls had so much fun! And since Lil K is walking better now, she is on the go all the time! They had so much fun swinging and then playing in the tree house deal! It was so awesome, and no one was at the park today, but us, so we had the ability to run and roam freely! It was awesome!!!!

One Liners

I thought I'd share these with you all! I hope you enjoy them too!

Christian One Liners

Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember Moses started out as a basket case.

Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.

The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.

God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead.

So why should you?

Some minds are like concrete thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

Peace starts with a smile.

I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?

A lot of church members who are singing 'Standing on the Promises' are just sitting on the premises.

We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.

Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Don't put a question mark where God put a period.

Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

Forbidden fruits create many jams.

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

God loves everyone, but probably prefers 'fruits of the spirit' over 'religious nuts!'

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

He who angers you, controls you!

If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

Prayer: Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!

The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.

The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

We don't change the message, the message changes us.

You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him.

The best mathematical equation I have ever seen: 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday to all of you! Hope your day was grand! Ours was! We started the day off with Daddy making us donuts. What a real treat. Not something we do very often, maybe once or twice a year. Anywho, it was a nice treat and something the girls enjoyed much.

Lil E had lots of fun dipping them in the glaze and then of course eating them.

Daddy and I together outside today!

We were teaching Lil E how to play hop scotch! It was the cutest. She had lots of fun, as did we!

After Lil K woke up from her nap, I took the girls to the park, and we met some friends there. It was lots of fun! And I truly cherish watching the girls do new things and have lots of fun and make memories! It was awesome watching Lil K try to do everything the big kids do! She is growing up way too fast! And it takes me back to this age with Lil E and wow, time has flew by!

She had a lot of fun in the tunnel. She couldn't get up all the way, but she kept on trying!

Lil E is such an awesome big sister and loves her baby sissy so much! She wanted Lil K to slide with her and all! She would get back up top and say, give me Lil K, so she can slide with me.

We had a really wonderful day! And enjoyed our dinner tonight of yummy pizza! Both girls enjoyed dinner and were more than ready for bed time! They were so tired. Now are they are my lil sleeping beauties!
Hope you and yours had a wonderful day too! May your Sunday be happy, warm, and Blessed Beyond!

A New Year, A New Me

Welcome 2009

Do I do resolutions??? Well sometimes and sometimes I do not!
But 2009 is a new year, and I am going to make sure a new me!
I want to work out and lose 50 lbs. We are getting a treadmill
and I do plan to walk 1 1/2 hours daily, as well as work out on the WII Fit.
We have been playing with the wii fit already! I love it!
I want to worry about stupid stuff a lot less. I want to let go and Let God!
Who better to handle the issues than God? I can't think of anyone! So that is my plan! I plan to live for my family! Making sure I'm the best mom and wife I can be, to keep my families eyes tuned to God! I don't want to see my family ever venture from God. We will be searching harder for a new home Church, we miss our old Church greatly, but in the time we are here or else where, we need to find a Church to be a part of. I don't want to keep visiting Churches and not finding something for my family. That's my focus now, finding our family a Church home. Even if I have to drive a ways. I just want the best for my family and myself! I want to continue to blog faithfully, not skip months at a time. I want to make sure to keep blogging all year long! I love sharing and I love for you to share with me too!

What do you plan to do? Will you make any resolutions? Or did you already? I'd love to hear about them.

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful New Years! May your 2009 be filled with love, happiness, health, and all that your heart desires! May you be blessed beyond!

We had a wonderful New Years! We celebrated it at home with our neighbors joining us both days. We had finger foods last night and played gmaes. Today hubby and I and the kiddos played and had fun. We played our new Nascar Top Toss game outside, and then we had some fun playing sequence inside. Our neighbors joined us for dinner. It was yummy! She cooked the black eye peas and homemade corn bread! We made cole slaw, ham, and scalloped potatoes! It all turned out great! Then hubby and I finished off the night with 2 more games of sequence. The kids played and laughed and giggled with us! Lil E played games with us, she was our helper on sequence, and she played top toss. Lil K sat with us and giggles and laughed with us, while playing with her toys! Then my family all entrained me by singing Karokee for me! Daddy and Lil E love love to sing! As well as Lil E was playing her guitar. We had so much fun! It was the BEST New Years we have had!!! Looking forward to a wonderful and blessed 2009!
