Just a little more snow fun

It's Dec 29 and we were saying, Let it snow, Let it snow, let it snow!

It was snowing and was just beautiful to watch! To bad we didn't get more than we did, but it kept travels much safer for those on the roads this way.

So here's a picture of the snow falling!


And it was outside to the snow we headed! And believe it or not, Lil K decided she liked it more than to watch it from the door! I think this must have to do with the warmer temps this time and the wind wasn't blowing like crazy.... I mean just look at how excited she was!


AS always, Lil E is really ready to play in hte snow! She would live in outside in the snow if we let her! She would make a great worker at the North Pole!

Please girls can mommy get a picture together??? Oh yes, but you better be quick, because we must get some more play time in!

OH look it's snowing here too!!!! :)

We decided to go in and warm up and watch some tv. Both girls snuggled up and went to sleep! OH WOW!

But it was too sweet!!!!!

Then we were back outside for round 2 of snow play! And Lil E was having a ball pulling K in the sled. But Lil K had way more to do than ride on the sled. She wanted to run and chase and play ball. We had so much fun playing soccer in the snow!

Then we were off to find the left over snow piles so we could throw snow balls! Look at the big piles Lil E would get to throw! It was so funny!!!

Lil K was too funny, as she would just get a little bit and say "here u go". It was too cute!!!! Glad to see her out playing and making fun snow memories with mommy and big sister!

All about our Christmas adventures! (lots of pics)

Where do I start? It was a busy month for sure! AFter everyone in our family getting the flu right after Thanksgiving and that taking almost 2 weeks, it was not much time left at all. And we also had lots of Adoption stuff going on. We are in the final stretch!!!! Thanking God for this!


We had taken the girls to see Santa at the local mall. He was a really nice and happy Santa! Lil E was excited and Lil K really didn't much like him! And I don't think it will be changing this Season.

Then it was busy busy to get all the stuff ready for Lil E's Pre School Christmas party! The day before the party, they threw a Happy Birthday Jesus party! And it was just too sweet. Their gift to Jesus was giving can goods to meals on wheels! Then it was their Class party and here's a pic of Lil E and one of her bestest friends in the world!



Can you believe it, it's Sunday night before Christmas, and what did we hear outside????? But Santa paying a visit to our home! He brought the girls each a small treat and told them to continue to be good and he would brign them more on Christmas Eve while they were asleep! Lil K didn't much like him at our home either! (Sure is great for daddy to know Santa, when he isn't busy at the North Pole, is busy working with Daddy... oh but the girls don't know that.)


Momma is still really tired and not caught up! Looking forward to Christmas, what must be going on, but some strange weather and Texas is getting a blizzard. Not right where I am, but between us south of us, where we plan to be on Christmas. Daddy is trapped out in this storm, and must stay the night out of state, and not sure if he will be able to be home for Christmas. So I'm pretty sad! It's Christmas eve now, just past midnight (early morning) and I don't know of hubs will be with us, not sure if we will get to travel or what. And in all this, they aren't calling for us to get much snow at all..... But all the sudden I hear something, it was sleet! And I go back to the door about 30 minutes later to check it out, and what did I find? SNOW! Big beautiful snow flakes!!!! What a Christmas this will be! YOu know I have always dreamed of a White Christmas!!!! So of course Lil E and Momma are busy watching it snow and playing outside. In and out. The wind was bitter though! It was rough!

She even was busy making me some beautiful snow angels!!!! :)

OH WOW, look at that snow!

Lil E talks mommy into going about and waking up Lil K about 4 am on Christmas Eve morning! We went out, and she wasn't to impressed! Not at all!

Can you believe it??? It's 5:30 am and we are still up. So I get us to bed... But my 8 am I am up again. And look what I find outside! Oh how beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THen it's snowing again!!!!!!

IT is so very windy! It is blowing our snow that is so powdery away! Far away! As the girls look out, they are keeping a close eye on this weather! And we keep praying for safety and for Daddy to make it home! And for our dear friend to continue to do well after her surgery!

The news comes late afternoon! Our friend is going home! 2 days post op from brain surgery! What a miracle!!! And Daddy will make it home on this Christmas Eve! For those that do not know, Daddy is a truck driver! He is a freight hauler and keeps our country going! But we are blessed, as he is home most every night!

Daddy made it home safely!!!!!!!!!!! What a true blessing and Miracle! You see some of the guys he runs with wrecked out that very morning! And had he not been held up, he would have been right in the area they were, when both of them wrecked out. What a blessing! Only by the works of God did he keep him away from harms way!

I was so excited, we had pics of us outside playing!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve together! And then it's wake up time on Christmas morning!!! It's not so much left, but it is still white outside! WOO HOO!!!

Here's where it really gets crazy! We check the state site and roads are going to be cleard or are being cleared, so we think we can make it safely to my parents. I need to see my sister. Our roads were pretty clear, but look what we find aobut 50 miles from home! ICE!

and lots of snow drifts!!!!!

After all this we have about 60 miles of highway, that is clear! They have treated and plowed and all is good! But do you think it lasts??? Of course not! In Texas so many areas aren't use to snow, much less blizzards, and they don't plow or treat the roads very well. So it went down hill very fast!!!!!!! Below is some of the sites, as we went through the worst hit area. They had gotten over 12 inches of snow, on top of the sleet and ice! UGH!

At this point we are only half way there.......................... And it's been a long long day already! :(

WHEW!!!!!!! It's been 15 hours on the road, and this is for what should have been a 6 hour trip, we finally arrive at 2am! Yes that is right, so it's not even Christmas any more! But to us it still was! And the girls find what Santa had left them, because our letter said we would be at Mamaw and Grandaddy's! They were so happy!!!!!!

We played and played, and then went to sleep. Got up and visited a little more and head back home. And Thank God the roads were better! Not great, but better!!! We still had Christmas to open at home. The girls each and so much fun!!!! Lil E got a special doll that has brown eyes just like her! And she was so excited! And they have matching outfits too!

Lil K was more excited about Daddy's toy that her own! It was too cute though! She would get so excited watching those little cars race!

So no matter how you spent your Christmas, just remember it was because of Jesus we have it! And man we were so thankful for all the blessings on this very Christmas! And we learned to stay put if either we were to see such weather at time of travel again! It sure isn't worth it!

Merry Christmas from our Family to yours!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Here's some pictures of our Christmas eve in the last 24 hours. Is started snowing about 11pm on the 23rd, and it is still white out! I have always dreamed of a White Christmas! Daddy didn't get home until 7pm on Christmas Eve night, after being stuck out in this winter weather. Can you believe there is a blizzard in Texas?

This is looking out of our living room as it snowed about 4am on Christmas Eve! We were praying for an go a wonderful Christmas Miracle on Christmas Eve (our friend had brain surgery on the 22nd and was released yesterday to go home on Christmas Eve!) What a blessing!



As Lil E and I layed in bed and watched it snow and the twinkle of the Christmas tree lights, (again early Christmas eve morning, 5:30ish). I was reminded how lucky we are! And please remember the reason we are celebrating!

About 8 am on Christmas Eve Morning I stepped out of the house to take a pic of the house and snow, but it is so windy, the snow is blowing away! Some one down the road is getting some GREAT big drifts! ;)

We were so ready for Daddy to come home! As soon as he got home, we were back outside to play! Both Lil E and Lil K were over joyed to see their daddy! As was momma too!!!!!!

We came in and ate dinner, and then it was time to open a few gifts! The girls each opened a pair of pj's. THey had to put them on right then! So they did. Then we opened up story books, each girl had a different story about the Birth of Jesus. We read them both to them. And we all sang Happy Birthday, Jesus! Then they opened their 3rd toy, it was snap n style dogs. They are so cute! And the girls were just too cute with them! What sweet blessings!

This is how how Christmas has started! And I wanted to take a few before I head to bed, and try to see about venturing to my families tomorrow, to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Chrstimas and Blessed new year!!!!! I hope yall have a wonderful one! Remember, the Christ in your Christmas!

1. What is your Favorite Christmas Movie? Oh now this so very hard for me! As I love Christmas movies the most! I watch them all year long! One of my most favorites is The Christmas Card.

2. What is your Least favorite Christmas Movie?

3. What is your favorite Christmas song? I have to pick just one.......This is so hard... Jesus gets Jealous of Santa Claus, but most all Christmas music is a favorite for me.

4. What Christmas song(s) drives you crazy? Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer or stupid songs like redneck Christmas songs......

5. What is your favorite Christmas Drink? (ie. egg nog, hot chocolate) Hot Chocolate with lots of marshamallows

6. What is your favorite Christmas Memory?My first Christmas with my sweet baby girl! After all the years of thinking I'd never be a mommy, it was by far the sweetest gift ever! As the girls are gifts from the arms of God.

7. What is the best toy/gift you've received on Christmas? The gift of Adoption, just as Joseph adopted, Jesus, God has trusted us with being our girls parents.

8. What is the worst toy/gift you've received on Christmas? hmmmm....... I try to so thankful no matter what the gift is. But I'd probably say a set of movies, my inlaws gave to me, but were really something ONLY hubby wanted or liked.

9. What do you LOVE about the holidays?
The lights, the warmth of peoples hearts! The spirit that fills everyone this time of year! Baking, cooking, watching movies, the music, buying gifts for those I Love.

10. What annoys you about the holidays?That people seem to take the Christ out of Christmas. We have to remember he is the reason for the season and that it is really about giving. On Christmas God gave his son to us (John 3:16) there is no greater gift! (Amen to this, Val!)

11. Do you prefer star or angel on top of a Christmas tree? Or something else? we have an Angel on our tree.

12. What is your family favorite recipe at Christmas? I love so much of what we make... I'd probably say i love homemade tamales, that we don't make (we buy) and our homemade enchilladas. :)

13. Are you a Grinch or a Who at Christmastime? A Who

14. Christmas light displays - Love them or Hate them? LOVE them! The more the better!

15. Santa's at the mall - Fun times or Creepy? fun times!

16. Christmas cards - do you send them, yes or no? yes of course! I love to send them! and I love to get them and make ornaments out of them

17. What is the best thing about Christmas, in your opinion? The gift of our Savior! Watching my kids celebrate Jesus's Birthday and watching the excitement in their sweet little faces.

18. What is the worst thing about Christmas? rude people and people freaking out about what and how much they think everyone needs to spend.

19. When do you put the tree up and take it down? I put up our tree before Thanksgiving and it comes the first weekend of Jan.

20. Out of the 12 days of Christmas, which day and item would you want your true love to give to you? It wouldn't matter! Any gift from my love would be wonderful!

21. Why do you think that Grandma got run over by a reindeer? probably because she fell asleep in the snow.

Ornaments

Oh wow! I joined a Secret Ornament Swap, that was hosted by Val @ It's a Wonderful Life. And I can't tell you how much fun it was! I had a blast shopping, but tonight I had a blast haning the ornaments that my sweet pal sent me! I am looking forward to getting to know her more!


My Sweet Pal, was Trish , She is so thoughtful and sweet! And She sent me the cutest set of 3 snowmen ornametns! They are too cute! And let me tell you the pictures do not do them justice at all! Their little bodies have glitter, so they sparkle! And it's so pretty as the lights twinkle to see them sparkle! They are perfect! Just see for yourself!

I mean this was more than enough, and yet I still was blessed with another little gift. She sent me a set of 3 snowmen candles! They are so cute! I love them! Each and every snowman! :)

So Thank you so very much, Trish! They are awesome and I'm so glad you were my partner! They are wonderful!!!!!! And yes, they melted my heart too!!! :)

I can not wait to do this again next year! It was lots and lots of fun!
